Michael Peschka, a native of Westlake Hills, Texas, was first exhibited at Laguna Gloria Art Museum (now the Austin Museum of Art) at the age of eleven. A lifelong artist, he studied at the University of Texas at Austin under Dr. Gabrielle Yablonsky, former artist-in-residence to the King of Bhutan.

In 1978 he met and befriended Caja Palffy, Countess of Pressburg and Erdod, the daughter of Dorothy, Princess Radziwill and Count Paul Palffy. Mr. Peschka worked closely with Countess Palffy in her Austin, Texas art gallery from 1978 until 1981 at which time his dear friend Caja arranged for him to visit Brussels, Belgium where he was apprenticed to M. A. Schollaert, portrait painter to King Leopold ll and King Baudouin, of Belgium.

Returning to Austin, Michael Peschka worked as a designer and painter in several local theatres, including Center stage and Zachary Scott Theatre Center. He also painted and/or designed sets for Austin Ballet Theatre and Austin Lyric Opera.


Michael Peschka has works in prestigious collections worldwide, including the estate of Milton Goldman in New York, Countess Caja Palffy, Count Nicolas Raskovanyi Vay ll, and Nicholas Harvey Vanderbilt.
